A busy weekend for Stellar Athletes.

2017 NYRR Millrose Games

Charlene Lipsey pushed training partner all the way to the line and was rewarded with the 2nd fastest time for an American ever in the 800m 1:58.64.         Although Ajee Wilson went on to break the American Record with 1.58.64 Charlene was also under the previous American record and Lynsey Sharp was 3rd in 2:01.14.

Other Stellar results were.

Sharika Nelvis 2nd in 8.01 in the 60m hurdles.

Remona Burchell  5th in 60m 7.28.

 

British Indoor trials

 

The men’s high jump was an extremely tight competition but it was Allan Smith who prevailed as three men finished with 2.25m clearances. It was a first time clearance at that height that eventually won it for Allan holding off the other competitors.

In the women’s 1500m Sarah McDonald kicked away from Eilish McColgan to win her first British title. Sarah out sprinted McColgan with 200m to go to claim victory.

In the Men’s 800m Elliot Giles showed his 800m speed to take the men’s 1500m title outclassing Tom Lancashire with 150m to go to cross the line in 3.45.59 with a new personal best.

Meanwhile in the women’s 400m the last event of the day twins Laviai Nielson and Lina Nielson earned a well-deserved the silver and bronze place. After a very tight finish Laviai clocked  52.86 just inches ahead of Lina, who was rewarded with a 52.89 and a personal personal best.
