ABOUT Brandon Starc

Brandon is a 2.31m high jumper from Australia who reached the finals of the 2015 IAAF World Championships and 2016 Olympics.

The ASICS-sponsored athlete won silver at the 2010 Youth Olympics and was sixth at the IAAF World Junior Championships in 2012. On progressing to the senior ranks, an improvement to 2.28m saw him selected to represent Australia at the 2013 Worlds.

Despite not reaching the final, he succeeded in doing so two years later in Beijing thanks to a lifetime best of 2.31m in qualifying and he went on to place equal 12th. The twice Australian senior champion was 15th at the 2016 Olympics.

The younger brother of Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc was also eighth at the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
