On Saturday January 25th a number of our athletes competed at the Sainsbury’s Glasgow International Match.

Desiree Henry won the 150m race, despite competition from strong athletes including Natasha Hastings (USA). She ran a PB of 17.32 and crucially took maximum points for the Commonwealth Select. William Sharman, who was GB & NI team captain, narrowly missed out on 1st place in the men’s 60m hurdles, running a PB of 7.67, only for Jeff Porter (USA) to out-dip him at the line, achieving a time of 7.66. Francena McCorory won the women’s 400m race in 51.79. She also took part in the 4x400m, where as part of team USA she placed 3rd. Lastly, Meghan Beesley took part in the 4x400m relays where team GB & NI placed first, crossing the line in a notable 3:33:49, which was also a stadium record.
